somebody just informed me that a new jondi & spesh dj mix will air today on friskyradio.com. the mix contains the title track from our new album (release date june 22, spundae records), "the answer". it's the 1st time that song has ever been played on the air (previously you would just have to catch us in the act of djing to hear it). as a bonus, the mix opens with the live verson of "we are connected." i hope you like it (if you catch it!).

t'was a fun one last friday. i'm upgrading the descriptive adjective to "spectacular" (see prev. post). there was lots of:
champagne
bass
good friends
people in general
good vibes
compliments on my set (thank you, folks)
random gifts (kevlar bbq gloves anyone?)
pink cupcake icing all over everything
people making out with michael
stolen tequilla
"spesh"shirts
the next day there was:
one lost cell phone (recovered)
one lost cd case (also recovered)
leftover booze????
present opening
dinner w/ friends featuring a port from 1933 and other rather $$$ wine choices (i paid)
brief confusion over what to do with the left over wrapping paper
a rather good night's sleep
other hilarious details can be gotten from anyone who was there (my friends sometimes don't tell me everything). all in all, it was one of the most amazing birhday celebrations ever. to all of you who came out that night, my heartfelt thanks. i'm one of the lucky ones. see you soon!
i got up, astrid gave me a birthday card and some lovely presents along with my coffee, the phone rang with greetings from holland: "gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag" - "congratulations for you birthday". i have learned to count my blessings when i wake up one year older than i was the day before. tonight we'll have some champagne with friends and family before we head over to mezzanine for what could be a "very good"* night out clubbing with friends. i feel blessed for having these friends and family too.
*the adjective describing tonight will most likely be upgraded to "excellent" or "spectacular", however age has taught me to temper my predictions a bit, especially when it comes to night clubbing. =)
