not since the very beginning of qoöl have i done an "all night" set there. i have thought about doing it at various times over the years, but when it came down to scheduling the djs, i felt that squeezing a few more djs into the schedule was always more important than giving myself a nice long set. i actually still feel that way, but in the last round of scheduling i worked the long set in there anyway (support from jondi & jackie helped ease the guilt). it just felt like the right thing to do. the audience at san francisco's qoöl have been the biggest single influence on my djing. you, qoölio, have given me the confidence to take the sound that you helped me shape on the road so that people in other cities can experience the qoöl vibe that you experience weekly. so guess what? tonight's set will be in honor of you. thanks doesn't begin to cover it.
it's 7th anniversary of one of the best parties ever. jondi has done new mix of we are connected just for the occasion. should be good!
xian just finished the design work for the next jondi & spesh album. it looks great, seeing it all put together was a bit of a rush (like, we've actally got anther album coming out. wowza). on the clubbing front, judging from the 1st two qoöls of 2004, it looks my favorite party has a great year ahead of it - thanks to the clubbers that make the party so great in the 1st place. qoölios, you know who you are!
i'm roasting chicken tonight. looking forward to using the remote themometer i got as a gift last year from dj splice. it tells you the internal temperature of the chicken you are cooking in the oven from up to 100 feet away. how cool is that?

hmmm. well, since the whole thing used to just be me playing records
there after work to a few of my pals, i probably have played between 5
and 6 before. =)
BUT in the days since there have been so many djs, maybe not???
i loved it. i set records aside all the time for early/mellow sets that
in never get to play, so tonight was a treat. downtempo? well, for me
it was!
you rock,
-spesh
p.s. i left b-4 jd's closing set (dinner with astrid's mother) - did he
rock it or what?
