... said the huge, sweet and rather formal sounding security guard, "can i speak to you outside?" so i followed him out of the club where he proceeded to tell me that "someone in management, and i can't tell you who" had a problem with me and that i was being kicked out of the club. "wow" i said, feeling a bit stunned and wondering if that one guy from high school who i made fun of in the yearbook in retaliation for all the beatings was now managing ruby skye. scott carrelli, who was keeping an eye on me as usual (and wasn’t kicked out of the club), went back in to retrieve our equally stunned group of friends. once we were all outside the club, i socialized with the a bunch of people, said goodbye to jerry Bonham who was on his way out after his opening set for paul van dyk, and prepared to have my picture taken with the guy who had to boot me (we were already becoming friends). but before we could get the camera out, another door person approached, said, “hey spesh, let me check your id again – i think there’s been a mistake.” next thing i knew, i had a fist full of drink tickets (courtesy of the club) and we were all back inside. the whole think took about 15 minutes. the moral of the story? being kicked out of a club, if it’s done right, can be a pretty fun experience.
enough people have asked me about it, so that's the story. quite an entertaining evening all together. i wonder where i'll be kicked out of next??? =)
