i wasn't able to find the time in october to do any charts, but i'm back on it, at least for now. in other random news, i'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the varous parties on halloween in sf, then again the very next night at qoöl saturdays. should be excellent all around!
...in san francisco and i'm standing on the dancefloor after tiestö's set talking to danny howells about his new and very excellent shoes. just then two very lovely ladies approach, hand their camera phone over to danny (apparently oblivious to who he is) and say, "will you take a picture of us with spesh?" sometimes it's just great to be local. i'm sure danny got a kick out of it as well. crazy!
you may have noticed from the schedule that jondi & i have been djing together a bit more often. just this year, our tag team sets have really started to gel into something greater than the sum of the parts. it's funny... we've worked together in the studio with such great chemistry for so many years, but djing was never part of that process. now that it is, we seem to be having twice the fun.
jeff b, my man at elementalist just let me know about some updates on this site. there's a new mix and movie on this page, and a 2nd page of pitures on the photos page. rockin!
it's been 2 days since a group of us attended ken chan's funeral. ken, aka dj kenichi was a fellow san francisco dj who passed away suddenly last week leaving all of us with varying degrees of sadness and confusion. there are all sorts of things that can be said at a time like this, but one thought keeps reoccurring to me. that the death of "one of us", a friend, an acquaintance, a dj you once heard, has suddenly made us just that much more aware of those around us. who we are to each other, that community of people we are a part of whether we know it or not, is made more clear than ever. and who knew such precious friendships and such a solid community would form around us while we dance the night away, night after night, with our minds on anything but death.
